|
|
In some of the other threads I refer to DOM trades. I though it best to put a few notes about them here.
A DOM Trade is where you back a runner at say 7.0 for a tenner. You then lay it back IR at half the price (3.5) for double the stake £20. So if the 3.5 lay is matched IR then you win £10 no matter what the result.
(£10 back at 7.0 - potential profit £60, Lay at 3.5 at £20 gives a potential loss of £50)
The beauty here is that in some race over half the field would have sucessful DOM trade trades and there are some runners who have 100% DOM trades over all recent runs, although they are rare. |

I've played a few similar trades myself recently Martin, it's not my usual style but the racing markets aren't in the best of shape these days........ _________________ You Don't Need Eyes To See, You Need Vision. |

Hi Martin,
This looks interesting. as I put in an earlier post I'm not so good a predicting price movement etc.
However, also, maybe it is not always possible to be there to trade IR.
Is it possible on BF to put the back bet on and then put they lay bet on so that it will stay on IR if unmatched before the off rather than the bet being cancelled?
I was told it was but I can't find it and do not run any software to do it for me.
I understand it is probably better to watch IR and possibly cut any losses if a match cannot be had etc but it is a thought that if bets can be left on IR instead of being cancelled unmatched, something could be made of the faciity.
Thanks Dagil. |

There is a: At In-Play: indicator on the BF website
You can select between:
Cancel, Keep , and Take SP
If there are non-runners then I think your lay is cancelled |

Hi Martin
Thanks, however, I cannot find this indicator prior to placing a bet?
Does it only appear when the bet is made and unmatched?

Thank you Martin, I have just put a small bet on at a crazy price via the BF site direct and found it. Then I cancelled the bet.
I am using a free software programme for my bets on BF and it doesn't give that option but it is quicker than using the BF site. It only allows me to place a simple bet in the live market and not put a bet on at a pre determined price.
It serves most of my needs though as I'm not really into sophisticated trading such as you and Nathan and others are. I tend just to Back or Lay and leave the bet on unless I can see I am lucky and get a free bet. Most of the time when I put a bet on I tend to leave on as is.
The big problem with this is if I am out I can't put the other option in, as in the DOM bets as I can only take the price on offer at any given time, hence the DOM trade would be difficult if not at my PC to watch the market. Now I have a solution. Thanks again. |

Remember though if there is a non runner your "keep" lay will be deleted (I believe) |
